Acrylic on Canvas
10 min piece painted live and recorded for Wordsmiths of Kuching’s multidisciplinary performance (poetry, art and sape music) for Kuala Lumpur Youth Literary Art Festival 2022 Opening Show.
Pemung Jae means Rejoice together in the Kenyah language. This piece speaks of rejoicing as friends gather together, expressed in the circular swirls. The dark swirl is symbolic of the hornbill’s motif as we are representing Sarawak, Land of the Hornbills.
